Candidate Qualifications:

  • Have a minimum of three (3) years of hospital, acute care or multi-specialty clinic transcription experience (this does not include the period of formal instruction).
  • Been actively employed as a medical transcriptionist within the last three (3) years (other healthcare employment, i.e., RN, MD, medical clerk, cannot be applied towards the three (3) year transcription work requirement).
  • Above-average English, grammar and listening skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology, disease processes, laboratory, radiology and general medical terminology.
  • Proficient in the use of Word, Windows and the Internet.
  • High speed internet connection preferred, but not necessary.
